Casinola began as a way to connect during the pandemic, with friends gathering on a video app to play poker and enjoy each other’s company. Having created an immersive online experience ie piping in custom playlists and sound bytes, it was a way to connect unlike any other platform. It soon developed into a virtual poker room that hosted weekly tournaments and nightly cash games.

 

When Casinola founder Eddie Cruz met artist Jonas Wood in 2020, they naturally began collaborating on the World Series of Art Poker (WSOAP), Wood’s own high-profile tournament concept. Much like Casinola’s online experience, WSOAP brings together artists who enjoy poker and poker players who enjoy art, for an evening no better described as “beautiful chaos”. A day where artists showcase both talent on and off the felt.
